Nostalgia time!! Scanned images of photographs taken on a 35mm compact. And slides taken on my Olympus OM1n, copied using an Epson V500 scanner. The quality does vary, but I hope they bring back some fond memories to all.
As a source of reference, I have used the superb Allocation history of BR Diesels & Electrics books compiled by Roger Harris, for withdrawal & scrapping dates on some of these images.

PWM 650 is seen at Reading depot open day 01 June 1985, attracting much attention from enthusiasts. This locomotive built by Ruston & Hornsby in 1952 carries both its BR number & Tops number 97650 in this picture. It is still with us stored OOU at a preserved railway.
08224+691 at York stabling point June 1986.
08224 scraped December 1993, 08691 still in traffic with Freightliner.
Gronk 08575 undergoes major repair at Freightliners Southampton Maritime depot May 2001.
Class 20077 seen in Red stripe railfreight livery at Derby June 1986. This locomotive would last another two years in traffic, before being badly damaged in a collision at Bickershaw Colliery, which caused its demise.
Coalville stabling point. 20190+104 await their next duty. Note the Ford Cortina & the 58 in the distance more history.
26032 stands in Eastfield depot 18 August 1983, with the breakdown train. The depot clock looming large at twenty to twelve.
26032 would last another Ten years in traffic before withdrawal & was scrapped at Springburn works February 1995.
27036 awaits departure from Dundee August 1983. This locomotive withdrawn from service April 1986.
31118 trundles through Ipswich with a short Speedlink service 11 June 1985. This locomotive would go on to be withdrawn in early 1989 & scrapped by MC Metal in their Springburn yard Glasgow in 1990.
31305 on the approach to Manchester Victoria 06 December 1984, with a loaded steel coil train.
